Happiness

Happiness can't be gained by any experience or action physical, verbal or mental (meditation) because it is your very own nature (svabhava स्वभाव ). It is also called Sat, Chit and ananda (सत् चित्, आनन्द), the very intrinsic core of us. Our svabhava can only be known through gyanam ( ज्ञानं ).

Reality Meditation and Meditative Life

This writing is based on Pujya Swamiji's Dayananda Saraswati of Arsha Vidya Gurukulam's 1 week session in Sept. 09 at Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania.

Meditation pre supposes 3 components
Meditator ( Dhayata)
Meditation (Dhayanam)
Object of Meditation (Dhaya)

Reality meditation involves visualization and actualization

Reality Meditation:
Saguna Brahma Vishaya Mansa Vavahara

Peace and Truth

There are no paths that will lead you to peace.
Peace is the way to go. You are the very PEACE.

You cannot see the TRUTH
You already are the TRUTH

Ignorance is the Cause of Sadness and Suffering

It appears as if the self  is immersed in the world (samsara) of sorrow and sadness. Even though we feel the intermittent pangs of suffering, unhappiness and pain in our daily living, there is absolutely no suffering in the Self, even if we have concluded that we are sorrowful and suffering. Suffering and pain that is felt is because of the false notion or conclusion about ourselves. The life of becoming or the life of struggle, conflict, stress and unhappiness has no Reality.

The true knowledge teaches us that our sadness or unhappiness is because we are unaware of our true nature and we entertain false notions about ourselves. If we knew our true nature, there would be no cause for unhappiness or sorrow.

Although the nature of the Self is wholeness, completeness and absolute freedom, we are still constantly struggling to become whole, complete or free; the one who is already complete is trying to become complete.

The above thoughts are taken from "Atmasatkam" by swami Viditatmananda.
