Definition of True Love

Love is an act 0f unconditional giving. True love happens when you are self accepting and pleased self. You accept others as they are without expecting any change in them. This is called unconditional Love. Prerequisite of true love is mentioned in Bhagawat gita chapter 2 verse 55 as given below: prajahāti yadā kāmānsarvānpārtha manōgatān | ātmanyēvātmanā tuṣṭaḥ sthitaprajñastadōcyatē || 2.55 || When a person gives up all the desires as they appear in the mind, happy in oneself, with oneself alone, that person is said to be one with firm knowledge. 1) True love is manifestation of one’s own inner fullness (Ananda). Seeing Sat (existence) Chit (awareness) Ananda (limitless happiness) as one’s intrinsic nature. 2) Love has no worries or fear of losing someone or something. If there are worries then it is mere attachment. 3) Love involves sincere unconditional caring for others. 4) Love is firm conviction that Isvara or some higher power is taking care of me at all times. 5) Love is non binding. 6) Love does not pull me down. 7) Love has no expectation or any desires.

 Swami Dayananda Saraswati:

1) The wave being not independent of water, you don’t have to remove the waves in order to see the water. So too, if the thinker, the thought, and what is thought of ( ध्याता ध्यान ध्येय) are dependent upon the ātmā (आत्मा, the self) , which is the reality of all three, you don’t have to remove any of them to recognize the ātmā. The recognition is that all three are ātmā, while ātmā is not any of them.

2) There are two types of problems in life, one is a problem for which the solution lies outside the problem, the other is a problem for which the solution is within the very problem. If the solution is contained in the problem and it is still a “problem”’, the problem is purely due to ignorance. The problem is caused by the ignorance of a fact and therefore we have a problem instead of a fact. The knowledge of the fact alone solves such a problem.

Swami Dayananda I may have all the six ingredients (effort, initiative, courage, intelligence, resourcefulness and perseverance) for success but still there may be something that makes the difference between success and failure. By my prayer, I invoke daivam (दैव्यं), the seventh factor, to take care of the unknown element.

Happiness

Happiness can't be gained by any experience or action physical, verbal or mental (meditation) because it is your very own nature (svabhava स्वभाव ). It is also called Sat, Chit and ananda (सत् चित्, आनन्द), the very intrinsic core of us. Our svabhava can only be known through gyanam ( ज्ञानं ).
